Organization at a Glance

Protibondhi Baykti Unnoyon Somity is an Organization of Persons with Disabilities (OPD) working in Netrokona district of Bangladesh. The organization was established on 01 January 2011 and started involving 353 persons with disabilities with support from its Own Initiatives. Now, the organization has a total of 417 members: among them, 270 male and female, 147. The organization implements its activities, ensuring the equal participation of men and women with disabilities.

According to the organization's bylaws, 417 members make up its General Committee, and 11 are on the Executive Committee. The staff and volunteers implement the organizational activities following the directives of the General Secretary/ Executive Director. Through the direct involvement of men and women with disabilities, the organization is working to promote the rights of persons with disabilities and improve their lives with support from government and non-government organizations.

Besides, the organization strives to partner with mainstreaming organizations for Disability Inclusion in their programs by ensuring the active and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities and providing capacity-building and technical assistance.
